Commercial photographer Melbourne

a technical note

Commercial work has and continues to be an environment where the highest quality result is demanded. In relation to lens quality, film technology or digital format, quality of processing, post production or digital handling, commercial photography is where the instruments of use will be highly scrutinised by the client.
It is for these reasons that, in the face of the digital revolution, I have not been swayed from a medium format Hasselblad camera, in favour of a 135mm digital format. Until this point all my commercial photography has been produced on 120mm transparency film for optimum results.
My tools of trade have not changed - Hasselblad technology has given me the highest quality images throughout my 12 years of photographic work - yet the latest Hasselblad allows me to continue to shoot the highest quality results on transparency film, or attach a digital back with a 22 mega pixel result.
On my return to Australia mid 2006, a new studio will be set up enabling my clients the highest quality available in both the film and digital world - depending on their specific requirements.Commercial: the specificsThe studio has in the past and will from mid 2006, look after a cross section of commercial clients. From location photography to studio work, the emphesis has always been, lighting. To understand, control and harness the light is to make what is 'as we see it' into art.Specialising in hairdressing and fashion photography, the studio has taken this philosophy and used it for annual reports, still life, interior and food photography.
